Maybe a sure sign of spring is that ALMP’s students are getting healthy again and returning from the challenges of the winter weather. It is good to have Ted and Jarrod back at their studies. As ALMP is in its second month of its 10th year of service to Gloucester, Mathews and Middlesex Counties, it is good that all enrolled students are back studying.
ALMP will be celebrating National Library Week, April 7 – 13 by continuing with its Adulthood 101 series, informative programs of interest to adults. This month the topic is: Books and Blood Pressure. That is an interesting combination! Do you know the connection? Plan to attend one of the sessions to learn about the connection and have your blood pressure taken. The schedule follows:
April 8: Middlesex County Library, Deltaville Branch
11:00 – 2:00
April 9: Mathews Memorial Library
10:00 – 12:00
April 10: Gloucester County Library, Gloucester Point Branch
10:30 – 2:30
Each library will host community people who would like to share their latest “read” (book) with you. While some listen, a Riverside nurse(s) will be available to do blood pressure readings and answer questions. No appointment is needed and with all ALMP programs, there is no cost.
Adult Literacy is here to assist you with your educational skills, year around. Call 804-210-9169 for an appointment.
Tutors are always welcome and Board members are needed. Call 804-210-9169 to find out what is required to become involved.
The Gloucester Libraries are closed March 22nd for staff development.
